She has been training and sharing her skills ever since, founding Forró Family with her brother, Andy, back in 2002. Julia runs regular weekly classes and courses in London and Brighton. Julia loves to incorporate different styles in her dance, focusing on close turns and sequences as well as footwork and connection. <image:title>Participants 2017 - Rudolfo (Cologne)</image:title>
<image:caption>Rudolfo was born in Olinda, in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Even as a child Rudolfo Batista da Silva was passionate about the folklore, the culture but mostly about the dances of this region of the northeast of Brazil (Nordeste). During his childhood he participated in many of the typical parties called Festas Juninas, dancing in the cultural capitals of Pernambuco. At the age of 14 Rudolfo’s interest in Forró grew and he started learning the typical styles of the northeastern region. When he was 19 he was introduced to the Forró Universitário style, learning it and mixing it with his Forró Nordestino. In 2010 he moved to the city of Cologne in Germany, where he founded the group Forró de Colônia.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Participants 2017 - Marcinho (Bordeaux)</image:title>
<image:caption>Marcinho, born in Salvador-Brazil, met forró in 2003 going out to parties. One year later, he felt the need to get deeper in that culture and dance by studying the masters and contributors of traditional forró (Forró Pé-de-serra). During his improvement, he learned to sensitize himself with the music and transform it in movement. He always says, "I don't dance forró, it's the forró that makes me dance!" In 2006, he realized his gift for teaching and from that moment on he got engaged with the forrozeiros world. In 2007, he started to dedicate himself to Samba de Gafieira and it became his second passion in life. In 2013, he moved to Bordeaux-France to show to the French his culture and strengthen the forró movement in Europe. Since then, he has been teaching and sharing the culture of these wonderful dances.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Teachers 2018 - Dedé Teles</image:title>
<image:caption>Born and raised in Brazil, Dedé's story with forró began still in his childhood, when he and his father used to listen to forró music, what became their road trip ritual. However, it was only in 2016 that Dedé started dancing forró, and in the Forró de Domingo Festival 2016 in Stuttgart he fell in love with this dance. Since then he started teaching a beginners couse in the Let´s Forró group in Kaiserslautern, visiting several festivals and, in 2017, taking some classes now and then with the outstanding Dhiego Luiz (in Heidelberg at the time). Since then he was invited to teach workshops in several countries in Europe, in Brazil and in Israel; and to teach in festivals all over Europe. Currently he is working towards his certification as a ballroom dance teacher, in which he focus on lightness and connection techniques.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Festivals - Malandro Forró 2017 - Marcinho (Bordeaux)</image:title>

      <image:title>Festivals - Malandro Forró 2017 - Rudolfo (Cologne)</image:title>

<image:caption>Julia first discovered Forró in 2001 whilst studying Capoeira in London. She was moved so much by the joy of dancing that she searched all over Brazil for more and eventually set up a Forró night in Manchester where she was living. She welcomes anyone interested to move to the spirit of Brazil and believes everyone can dance.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Cainã Araújo the talent of the northeastern forró. Singer, composer and poet, that’s how we can define Cainã Araújo. He began playing accordion at the age of nine. At 14 he also played professionally. In 2015 he started his solo career. 2018 the success recognized - With the release of the CD “Coração Matuto” Cainã conquered the public opinion and his songs played in the radio stations of the city. Defending the culture of the traditional forró Cainã left, in 2018, for a new chapter in his repertoire. After participating in a contest in the city of Itaúnas - Espírito Santo, he was invited to show his trajectory outside Brazil. And it was with heart and soul that he went to Europe, where he now resides, and has presented his new authorial work entitled Estrada do Meu Peito (2019). In Europe he has played in several festivals such as Forró London (England), Ai que Bom Festival (Paris), Tome Forró (Germany) and Forró Roma (Italy). In addition, he played in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Russia, Czech Republic and Poland. And as he likes to say: Viva o forró, meu povo!!! Long Live Forró!</image:caption>

<image:caption>A new Berlin resident Forró Band shows a different artistic conception to the Forro scene. Influenced by the Brazilian popular culture of Pernambuco (Coco de Roda, Forro de Rabeca, Cavalo Marinho e as Bandas De Pífano) and also by the Forró Pé de Serra, Forró Viramundo brings the swinged music and the dancing tradition to the stage. In the repertory not only classic songs of Luiz Gonzaga and Gordurinha, but also new music instrumental of Dominguinhos, Mestrinho and Hermeto Pascoal. Not only great for dancing, but also for listening and watching.
